Section Policy
Journal of Social and Educational Research (JSER) accepts research, critical review, and short communication articles.
Research Articles – reports of new research findings or conceptual analyses that make a significant empirical and/or novel theoretical contributions to the existing social and education literature.
Reviews Articles – may include meta-analyses or conceptual work resulting in significant new theoretical insights into the field of social and educational sciences. To be considered for publication, these must go beyond merely summarizing the extant literature.
Short Communications - are typically narrower in scope than a Research Article. Nonetheless, they contribute to the literature, e.g., due to their: unique sample; replication of a high-profile finding in need of independent confirmation; validation of significant measures in the field; or the development of new measures. Occasionally, action editors may request that a Research Article be resubmitted as a Short Communication.
