Plagiarism Policy
Journal of Social and Educational Research (JSER) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all submitted manuscripts. As part of the journal’s editorial process, all submissions that pass the initial editorial check and are sent for peer review undergo plagiarism detection using iThenticate.
The plagiarism report is carefully evaluated by the editorial team. Matches that are properly cited, quoted, or are part of the references are excluded from concern. Only significant, unreferenced overlaps are taken into consideration when determining plagiarism.
JSER considers the following practices to constitute plagiarism:
-
Copying text, ideas, or data from another source without appropriate citation
-
Self-plagiarism (duplicate publication or redundant publication)
-
Submitting someone else’s work as one’s own
-
Improper paraphrasing of previously published content
Based on the analysis of the similarity report:
-
Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript and appropriately cite the sources.
-
In cases of serious plagiarism, the manuscript may be rejected outright.
-
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article in line with academic publishing ethics.
JSER follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all authors to adhere to the highest standards of academic honesty.
