Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest

The Journal of Social and Educational Research (JSER), published by BADE Institute, is committed to maintaining editorial independence, academic integrity, and transparency in all aspects of the publication process. The journal’s ethical policies are guided by widely accepted principles of academic publishing and open-access dissemination.

Editorial Independence

JSER is published by BADE Institute, which affirms and upholds the editorial autonomy of the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board. All editorial decisions—including manuscript evaluation, peer review coordination, and acceptance or rejection—are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit and scientific quality, free from influence by the publisher, sponsors, or affiliated institutions.

The editorial process is conducted with a commitment to transparency, objectivity, and academic freedom.

Conflicts of Interest Policy

To preserve the integrity of the review and publication process, all individuals involved—editors, reviewers, and authors—are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their objectivity.

Editors

Editors must withdraw from considering manuscripts in which they have a direct or indirect conflict of interest, including but not limited to personal, professional, or financial relationships with the authors or institutions involved.

Such submissions are reassigned to a different editor to ensure a fair and unbiased process.

Reviewers

Reviewers should notify the editorial office if they have any competing interests related to the manuscript, including prior collaboration, institutional connection, or financial involvement, and should decline the review if necessary.

Authors

Authors are required to disclose all relevant financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the content or interpretation of their manuscript.

In particular, authors must specify:

  • All sources of research funding

  • The role of any funding bodies in study design, data collection, analysis, and publication decisions

  • Any affiliations or circumstances that might create a perception of bias

If no such relationships or involvement exist, authors should clearly state:

“The authors declare no conflicts of interest and no involvement of funders in the research or publication process.”

Ethical Publishing Commitment

JSER takes ethical publishing seriously and adheres to principles of transparency, impartiality, and academic responsibility throughout all editorial and peer-review processes.

Any allegations of misconduct are evaluated and addressed in accordance with established academic norms and handled confidentially.
